Practical Mac clamshell mode tutorials.

Lidkeep is a small reference desk for people who want their MacBook to work comfortably with its lid closed. We focus on the real questions behind a simple setup: power, external displays, wake behavior, heat, and battery trade-offs.

Our guides distinguish Apple’s supported external-display clamshell workflow from settings, Terminal commands, and third-party workarounds. They are written to be easy to scan before you change a setting or rearrange a desk.

Our approach

We favor reversible steps, plain language, and careful setup checks. Every tutorial is a starting point for understanding your own Mac and accessories—not a substitute for the official documentation for your exact model.
